Fanks for the mem'rees...

For everyone who participated, I hope you had a good time!
For everyone who said they'd participate and forgot, there's always next time!
And for everyone who's just now finding out about it, it will happen again, just stay posted.

I am working on little diddly dingbats for participants to put on their page, something other than the cocktail glass with computer thing. It will be posted here and you can steal it and put it on your own page. When I get to it.

Northern Girl and I are also considering a prize to the Best Blogger, but since we haven't figured out what constitutes "best blogger" yet you'll just have to hold your breath. The winner will get a little diddly dingbat all of their own. I would not, however, recommend that the winner use the honor on a resume'.

It ain't over 'til it's over

Ok! So the official stated date for NaDruBloDa has passed, and several people whined early on about not finding out in time or not feeling like it or whatever, that's alright. If you will leave a comment with this post, I'll start a list labeled "latecomers", so we can check you out. If we want.

I also think it might be a semi-annual event. I have to consult with the Power That Be on that one.

There will be a couple of prizes, in the form of dingbats you can put on your web page. I don't know what the prizes will be awarded FOR yet, but we'll come up with something. I am also planning a dingbat (beyond the cocktail glass logo) denoting participation, because not everyone who signed up participated, if you can imagine such a thing.

Having gotten the paperwork out of the way,
I do believe it was a smashing success, Amber didn't throw up, Jack kept the bar stocked, and Lesbian Pirate Queen provided background music on her pipe organ. People popped in and out all over the place the place, and Northern Girl was able to release a little tension. Fracas found me some dancing shoes, and The Georgia Moderate kept a bucket handy in case Amber did throw up.

Thank you to all who participated, I hope you had a wonderful time! Let's give our livers a bit to recover, ok?

Fear not, respected denizens of Bloglandia. If you wish to participate in NaDruBloDa, and be recognized here for your efforts, you can continue to sign up in the comments section and I will, as long as I am physically and mentally able, put your name on the participants list. Since I don't intend to actually start my own drunk blogging until I am no longr the sole "responsible" adult in the house, you'll have until 6 or 7 pm Eastern, maybe later.

However, even if I can't get your name on the roll, put yourself in the comments box with a link to your blog, so people can go there that way.

Makeup Days

It has come to my attention that there are people who,due to circumstances beyond their control, will be unable to participate on the 29th. If you are one of these folks, leave a message in the comments saying when you will be able to DruBlo, and then the rest of us can go to your site when we're sober and laugh at you.

Q&A

Q: What to blog about?
A: Whatever you want. I understand there is a party happening in Atlanta. If the Atlanta people will let me know who you are, I can bunch you together so the rest of us can see what DruGroBlo looks like. (oo that sounds bad, doesn't it)

Q: When to start DruBlogging?
A: I suggest you wait until after work/school, or when there's another driver in the house (if you have kids). Other than that, whenever you're ready. Be sensible-ish.I don't want to feel responsible if someone does something really stupid. I believe the Australian contingent will begin 12 hours, and the Brits 6 hours(?) earlier than the USA. As I like to say on Saturdays, "It's 5pm somewhere!"

ON the Day, if you have ideas for topics, you can post them here. I don't know about y'all, but I love working off someone elses idea.

You can also post your favorite beverage recipe. I have heard rumors of a Jagermeister/Tequila cocktail that sounds (to my delicate sensibilities)like something you'd strip furniture with. but thats just me.

Um...

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the sidebar. Please continue to sign up for NaDruBloDa under the "Welcome!" post. I'm off to fetch another bottle of wine, then I'll roll up my pantlegs and wade through the template code.

December 29 will be here before we know it! Tell your friends! Post about it on your site! Steal the "official logo" for your own sidebar! Just make sure it links back here so people can continue to share the drunk...I mean...love!

Welcome!

This is the Official Site for National Drunk Blogging Day.
The date has been set for Friday, December 29.
If you are interested in having other drunk bloggers or the Designated Reader, (or anyone else) read your NaDruBloDa postings, put a link to your blogspot on this page, in the comments section. That way other folks will know you are participating (well, that, and the clever logo designed by Will "PressmanDodd" on your webpage)

The rules are this:
Start drinking.
Start writing.
No regrets.

Designated readers, please identify yourself so we won't be impressed with your coherence when we assume you're writing under the influence.
